Born of desperation:
Here at The Melbourne Coffee Water Experiment, we make specialized coffee brewing water for your at-home coffee machine. Our goal is to bring the creamy coffee magnificence of Australia’s most hipster’esk cafes to our Aussie expat friends, and American mates; right here in the United States.
So who are we? We’re a bunch of Aussie expats who couldn’t find a decent brew in America to save ourselves. After one too many cups of, what we can only describe as a mix of coffee and some sort of lemon-zest aged in expired cough-syrup, we channelled the stubbornness of the wombat, and the unjustified optimism of the quokka (look it up. trust us. you’re welcome!), to solve the US coffee conundrum.
Turns out a great cuppa doesn’t need to be prepared by a fancy barista who talks openly about ‘java mouth-feel’ as if it’s not creepy. The secret to Australia’s amazing coffee is Australia’s wonderful water!
And so The Melbourne Coffee Water Experiment began.
By combining pure reverse-osmosis water with trace minerals found naturally in Australia’s pristine waterways and catchments, we have created a coffee brewing water which we believe brings out the rich, smooth and creamy flavour of your favourite bean.

Unlike so many reality TV shows which claim to be conducting an ‘experiment’, when in reality they’re just torturing Gen Z’ers, The Melbourne Coffee Water Experiment is an actual, for real experiment (we bought a lab coat and everything!)
